Tonight's Free Advice:
When your granddaughter has her fourteenth birthday, and she's in a car full of her besties, on her way to celebrate, call her. Make sure to sing "your song" to her while holding up her baby picture. Sing as loud as your crackly old voice can go. If she acts embarrassed, act like you need to pick your nose, just like she use to do a few years ago.
She'll probably act mortified and want to get off the phone but remember this. You just gave her one of the best gifts money can't buy. You gave her a memory she will never forget. She'll actually be talking about this moment for years to come. Possibly in therapy.
