Sundays In My City

Most Sunday nights in my city end up the same way, no matter what the day was like. Everyone gathers at our table for a big meal then the guys go off and hide in the barn pretending to work on the tractor, or down to the pond fishing, or locked in the other room watching some worthless time wasting sports game on tv. Since when is WII bowling a sport, anyway? But the girls gather at the table with cheese, crackers, margaritas and sippy cups to play UNO.

But not just any old game of UNO. This is Whoopee Cushion UNO.

Did I mention it involves a whoopee cushion?

And cheating. Yeah, ya gotta have blatant cheating for whoopee cushion UNO to be any fun at all.

It always ends well even with the cheating.

Now go visit Unknown Mami so you can see what normal people around the world do on
Sundays in their cities. Go on. Get!

That's a lot more fun than most of the nights in my town.

pfssst!

I'd much rather gather at the table with those women. Sounds like that is where the fun is!

Whoever smelt it, dealt it!

..oh wait, it's just a whoopie cushion. My bad.

That does sound like a lot of fun. The guys don't know what they're missing.

Why am I the only one who is bummed that you did not explain HOW TO PLAY whooppee cushion UNO? Spill!

I love playing UNO, but I have no idea how you incorporate a whoppee cushion.

Once we were at home playing UNO with friends, it was not late. I guess we got too loud and the cops were called. The police officer asked if we were having a party and when my husband said, "No we are just playing UNO" the officer had to stifle a laugh before asking us to keep in down for the neighbors.

If you watched the Rose Bowl parade you might have seen the float celebrating the 40th anniversary of Uno. I didn't see a whoopie cushion made out of flowers on it though.

That sounds like a seriously fun game of Uno. how do you incorporate the whoopee cushion? My family would LOVE that :-)

Happy New Year and all great wishes for 2011.

We like to play S!it On Your Neighbor. But when the kids are playing, it's Poop On Your Neighbor.

Gotta keep the kiddos innocent for as long as possible! ; )

My son loves UNO and the whoopee cushion would have been funny when he was playing with his pal the other day!

Hi Marla,
Just stopped by to wish you a wonderful 2011 and it looks like you are all off to a good start. That looks a lot like the Sundays in our family, minus the whoppie cushion and UNO, but they are replaced by Rook cards and my brother-in-law makes up for the lack of whoppie cushion...

PS- and I see you lost 20 pounds. (Yippee!) I found them, call me if you want them back...
