Happy New Year

Well, can you believe it is 2011? Where does the time go? Of course today will be filled with resolutions to do all sorts of good and mindful actions for many people. I, on the other hand, prefer to be honest with myself. Let's face it, all those years of previous resolutions just left me fatter, poorer, more selfish and self-serving all leading to increasing amounts of shame and guilt. So I finally figured it is just better to be honest about what I will do in the new year and then deal with it. I also refuse to use the word resolutions and choose the more easily digested term, goals. I mean, seriously, if I fail at my resolutions then I have no resolve and am a complete loser. But if I don’t meet my goals, I can just move the deadline, blame the other team members, or switch companies. I learned a lot from corporate America.

So, here are my realistic goals for 2011. Hey, it could happen.

  • Weigh less than my husband

  • Earn more than my husband

I think that about sums it all up. Ok, there might be a few more goals here and there, such as love God more, love people more, choose integrity over all else and be the best me I can possibly be (without having to join the armed forces). Stuff like that. Anyway.....

HAPPY NEW YEAR Y’ALL

Happy New Year, Marla. I'm pretty much right there with you on resolutions. I know myself too well by now to believe I'll really be much different this year. Still, change can happen. It's just that "slow and steady wins the race."

Whenever you're ready to arrange a face to face meeting, let me know!

Yes! Finally, someone who agrees that the word goal is perfectly acceptable replacement the R word. For what it is worth, I so enjoy your blog! Your humor and honesty are wonderfully refreshing and I am glad I stumbled into your corner of the world.
Happy New year!

Those are AWESOME resolutions - uhm, goals. I think I've always weighed more than my husband, and when I was pregnant with the twins I could have easily crushed him. It was so depressing. He's just very thin, and has the metabolism of a hummingbird. Whatever, Hubby.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I usually don't make resolutions, but this year I made two:

#1 FINISH the book!
#2 REALLY get together with the people that I say, "We'll get together..." to.

And I really, really mean it. We'll see...

So that means you just need to start your own cookie company (you will be too busy to eat), make Bob your official tester (so he gains a few lbs), sell the company to Nestle (make millions), and you will bring lots of love into your life with your cookies and millions. TA DA!

MIght be way more fun to hug lots more people and take more walks :)

Happy New Year!!!

Love you! Marie

Marla, you look like you are feeling pretty good now. So glad. New Year resolutions are setting myself up for a letdown, so I choose not to even use the R word this time of year. Hope this year brings you so much love and good health.

I've made a resolution to not make any resolutions. Knowing me, they'd be broken by now. lol!

As for weighing less than the hub, I hope those 20 lbs. stayed lost. God knows I couldn't do it, once the appetite kicked it's way back in.
