I Plan ~ God Laughs

I thought this might be a good time to recap The List and what we have been able to accomplish so far.

1. Fast for the 2 billion people who live on less than a dollar a day.

Did it. Blogged it. Ended up with black eye, broken glasses and feeding the homeless every other week. More friends are joining the effort each time we go. Worth the black eye and broken glasses.

2. Contact your local crisis pregnancy center and invite a pregnant woman to live with your family.

Been there, done that, blogged it. Daughter-in-law Amy has picked up the torch and is scouring Jacksonville for a homeless pregnant girl. Crazy runs in our family.

This brings us to #3 on The List.

3. Ask your pastor if someone on your church’s sick list would like a visit.

We decided to change this one up just a wee bit. We are going to the VA hospital in Oklahoma City next week. There are 90 patients, we were told, that would be ever so thankful for some homemade cookies and a visitor. I am a big cry baby so I'm hoping to accomplish this one without curling up in the fetal position in the lobby.

Tomorrow is Homeless BBQ Day. What? It’s supposed to snow tomorrow? Really? Do you still think God has no sense of humor? Oh, He’s laughing, baby!

Just when I think I've got it bad with sick fish and loss of hair....I come over to your Blog and find that folks have it worse.

I have been praying for several days about your bbq. I couldn't remember if it was today or tomorrow. I'll continue to pray. I can only imagine the blessings you'll give an receive at the VA hospital and will keep that event in my prayers as well.

Thanks, Rae. God's my inspiration. I'm just the worker bee.

Ok Granny ~ I cannot begin to tell you what this means to me. I value the prayers of the saints. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The VA hospital is a great idea! We have one less than an hour from here. I'll mention that to Mr J.

Let me know how that goes...

Happy New Year

Monkey ~ That's one of the goals: To inspire others that if I can do this, any monkey can do it. :-)

Gayle ~ Never a boring moment at HansenFarm.

Thanks,Respectfully Yours. Happy New Year!!

Lily ~ I will definately let you know. Let me know if you visit yours. I also found another List so I may add more to this one. Life is good when it's not about me, ya know?

Our God is an awesome God, He reins from heaven above with wisdom, power and love! Our God is an awesome God!!

When I see all these pictures I really miss you all even more! You guys are doing great stuff Marla! We did some volunteering at homes of people with an intelectual disabillitie here in Amsterdam, making their houses 'Christmas proof' with lots of decorations. That was fun to do and God loves it when we do those kind of stuff! :) I could feel it! I am curious how your BBQ is going today!

Love,
your little Dutch daughter

honeypiehorse ~ It depends on the girl. Some choose adoption and some choose to keep the baby. Hard choice either way really. I have such respect for these women.

UG ~ We baked all day. It was a blast!

Amarja ~ We are having such a wonderful time. When you come out, we need to do something crazy together and when I come to Amsterdam, let's volunteer.

Amy ~ Thanks for following along on this crazy journey!

justsomethoughts ~ The only heart of gold I have is Neil Young's. No choking! :-)

ModernMom ~ It has been a great experience ... so far. :-)

Sarah ~ China with me?? That would be awesome!!!!
