Sundays In My City

This is the city my mother was born in, grew up in and is buried in. It is where her heart always was even after she married my father and moved to Los Angeles in 1940. It's where I spent every summer on my aunt's ranch and every weekend I possibly could during the school year. It's where I ran the streets day and night as a kid never fearing a thing because I was related to just about every resident. It's where I moved as soon as I was married because, like my mother, it's where my heart was then and where my heart will always remain.

What a great little town. You took some wonderful pictures of it too. It means even more because your mom loved the town and you do too, so it has to be special.

I would love to make a trip down there. I live in Antioch, in the Bay area. :)

Ahh! You're making me miss home! My grandparents always took us to sea shanty. I miss it!

There really is no place like home. How lucky of you to get to remain where your heart is! :-)

I spent a few Fourth of July's there with Kelly and lots of other relatives of yours who I couldn't keep track of then and certainly couldn't remember now. It is a truly unique and beautiful spot. Feels very un-California. Yet there you are staring out at the beautiful Pacific.

Unless I'm pronouncing it wrong in my head, I'm not sure I've even heard of this before. I swear I think I hear of a new town in California I've not heard before. It sounds just plain awesome.

ACK! I just saw my comment again and forgot two whole words. I meant to say: "I swear I think I hear of a new town in California I've not heard before EVERY DAY". Only now it's sort of lost its punch, really. {SIGH!}
